Lyric Ave is Richmond VA’s own poetry and performance based variety show and troupe that entertains with comedy and culture to open up discussions on tough topics such as race, religion, relationships, drug and alcohol, violence, politics and more. Utilizing a professional cast of performing artists and content conducive to a PG-13 rating, Lyric Ave blends spoken word poetry, music, theatre, dance, comical sketches, and stand-up comedy into one of the best live shows you’ll ever see. Lyric Ave provides a positive family atmosphere with the unique ability to include its audience as a part of the show.

Founded and produced by best friends, Craig Watson & Dontronn Goode, Lyric Ave is a movement that inspires one to pursue dreams. Debuting May 18, 2003 with a modest mission of developing artistic growth and inspiration through quality productions, Lyric Ave has matured into one of Virginia’s premiere urban entertainment venues with national exposure and recognition. While Lyric Ave takes pride in its creativity and originality, audiences often refer to its production as a dynamic fusion of the shows “Def Poetry & Def Comedy,” “In Living Color” “Saturday Night Live” and “Showtime at the Apollo”.
